Canada urges citizens to leave Iran

The Canadian Foreign Ministry is urgently calling on its citizens to leave Iran due to security threats, recommending departure via Armenia or Turkey.

This was reported by the Canadian Foreign Ministry on social network X.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry has issued an urgent warning to its citizens in Iran. The government is urging Canadians to leave the country as soon as possible.

Diplomats cite the escalating political and security situation in Iran amid mass protests and possible violence against foreigners as the reason for this urgent appeal.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry emphasized that citizens should immediately review their plans to stay in the country and organize a safe departure.

The ministry recommends doing this through neighboring countries — Armenia or Turkey — as direct flights may be restricted or dangerous.

“We urge all Canadian citizens to immediately review their plans to stay in Iran and arrange for safe departure,” the Foreign Ministry said in an official statement.

Canadian diplomats stressed that the government continues to monitor the situation and will provide security updates for citizens remaining in Iran.
