Two Sisters is a feature film screening as part of the Ukrainian Film Festival in Alberta, taking place on April 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Metro Cinema in Edmonton. A special feature of the Edmonton screening will be a Q&A with director Łukasz Karwowski following the screening.

The film tells the story of two sisters from Warsaw who, after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, travel through war-torn Ukraine to bring their wounded father home. After ten years apart, they reunite, and this journey forces them to confront not only the dangers of war but also their own old wounds, resentments, and complex family truths.

The film blends emotional family drama with the realities of war, depicting the heroines’ journey through ruined cities, occupied territories, chance encounters, and a constant sense of danger. According to the festival, this is a 2025 drama with a runtime of 92 minutes, in Ukrainian and Polish with English subtitles.

The event will be of interest to anyone who wants to see contemporary European cinema about Ukraine, as well as chat with the director in person after the screening. This is a great opportunity not only to watch a powerful film but also to participate in the festival’s cultural program in Edmonton.
